joe "king" carrasco said so a bunch of years ago. the band had just come back from whatever sort of break a ganja band takes. it is true. the air outside right now is sweet.
i've been watching the flooding back east. (that & the red sox game - great catch by coco crisp, in that one.) a lot of reporters in hip waders on the news. you can never be sure why reporters love this shot so much. whether it is the contrast between natural power & man's contrived dominance, or the press' natural inclination to "always show the worst side" of any story - you never see the nice sunny days...
anyway, i'm wondering why there isn't a national ecology corps.? a federal group trained in dealing with environmental disaster & dealing prophylactically with potential problems. a peace corps kind of outfit. you could enlist & have military type benefits. it would overlap with the corps of engineers some, the forestry dept some, it would be a national service that i think would attract a lot of interest. do i need to wait til kucinich is president to see something like this proposed?
